  • Learning Objective
    Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
    1) Gather relevant information to plan activity programmes in settings such as day care centres, senior activity centres, neighbourhood link services and sheltered homes
    2) Identify clients’ needs and determine suitable activity programmes for different client groups
    3) List resource requirements
    4) Co-ordinate planning process
    5) Design plans for activity programmes

    Course Outline
    1) Clients’ diverse therapeutic, social and recreational needs in planning activity programmes
    2) Objectives, measures, methods for monitoring outcomes and timelines for activity programmes
    3) Physical and financial resources required for planning an activity programme
    4) Skills for co-ordinating planning process with clients, staff and other external organisations
    5) Strategies to promote effective group participation
    Trainer
    Wong Li Peng graduated with a Bachelor of Science, specialising in the area of occupational therapy from Curtin University of Technology in 2002. Ms Wong has experience working as an occupational therapist in hospitals, nursing homes and private homes. Currently, she is working as an occupational therapist with TOUCH Community Services.
